5. Wide receiver Andrew Armstrong hauled in the first catch of his career.
Armstrong, who was elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game, tallied the first regular-season reception of his career with a 13-yard catch late in the second quarter.
The preseason standout recorded 42 offensive snaps and nine special teams snaps over the course of his first regular-season action as a professional.
6. Kansas City forced two takeaways defensively.
The Chiefs notched a pair of takeaways on Sunday, forcing multiple turnovers for the fourth time in five games. Only the Pittsburgh Steelers, with multiple takeaways in five games, have done so more often.
Linebacker Jack Cochrane was responsible for the Chiefs’ first takeaway with an interception early in the second quarter. Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed then forced a fumble in the fourth quarter, which linebacker Drue Tranquill pounced on, for Los Angeles’ second turnover.
7. The defense racked up four sacks on the day.
The Chiefs had generated a strong pressure rate in recent weeks, but over the last three games, Kansas City didn’t have a sack to show for it. That changed on Sunday.
Kansas City wrestled Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert to the ground on four occasions over the course of the game as defensive end Ashton Gillotte (1.0), defensive end George Karlaftis (1.0), safety Chamarri Conner (1.0), defensive tackle Chris Jones (0.5) and defensive tackle Peter Woods (0.5) all contributed to that effort.
