Matthew McConaughey says he may need a DNA test to settle a rumor that he and Woody Harrelson are brothers. The two longtime friends and Austin-based actors are the inspiration for “Brothers,” an upcoming Apple TV+ comedy series loosely based on their relationship. The eight-episode series was filmed in Austin and will premiere Sept. 23. McConaughey addressed the rumor on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” saying he might consider taking a DNA test to settle the question. He said, “I don’t think it’s true. But, yeah, I might need to,” after recalling that his mother started the speculation at a family gathering. McConaughey said his mother took a sip of her drink and said, “Oh, Woody… I knew… your father.”
