Swift began his career in Detroit as a 2020 second-round pick out of Georgia and never quite progressed to a stage that warranted an extension with the Lions, who traded Swift to Philadelphia in 2023. After enjoying a career-best year (1,263 scrimmage yards, six total touchdowns) with the Eagles, Swift moved to Chicago, signing a three-year, $24 million deal with the Bears in 2024.
Since then, Swift has proven himself as a reliably productive weapon, averaging 1,365.5 scrimmage yards in his first two seasons with the Bears and forming one half of a contrasting tandem with bruising back Kyle Monangai last season.
With Swift in the window to sign one more lucrative deal and the final year of his existing contract beginning in 2026, Bears general manager Ryan Poles made sure to sign his top back before the season began. They’ll kick off their 2026 journey on Sunday against the Panthers with one less financial matter on their checklist.
